Virginia High School League (VHSL), the governing body of public High School sports in the Commonwealth, announced a change in their participation policy. The new policy lines up with President Donald Trump’s Executive Order banning boys from playing on the girls’ team.

VHSL said they will comply with Trump’s Executive Order “effective immediately.” Their statement says, “The Executive Order limits competition in girls’ sports to students assigned female at birth only.” Oh please, give us a break.

VHSL’s statement reads like a child forced to apologize before being excused before bed. The Executive Order doesn’t offer “limits” for girls; it protects them. But VHSL went with “limits,” which distorts what is happening here. Transgender doesn’t exist. “Female at birth only” is the only way a female can ever be a female. Girls’ sports are for girls, so this doesn’t offer a limit, it offers an obvious protection.

The phrase “assigned female at birth” is transgender gobbledygook. No child has been “assigned” a gender at birth. The biological gender is determined or observed or evident, but never arbitrarily “assigned.”

A false premise should always be rejected. This “assigned at birth” nonsense is easy to reject. When the phrase is used, ask for the one reason any child is “assigned” male or female. Is it because of biology or is it ever because of the genders of that hospital’s recently delivered babies? You know, to keep with population estimates and all. Three boys in a row, yeah right. One of those babies got mis-“assigned at birth.” Is that supposed to be the ruse? C’mon.

As poorly constructed as VHSL’s statement is, it delivers the necessary result. “Effective immediately,” means this season, right now, and hopefully for posterity.

Governor Youngkin cheered the decision, saying on X, “Common sense wins!” He would have to be a Republican to say that. State Senate Maime Locke retorted otherwise. She posted on X-
“Common sense isn’t so common. The VHSL caved to the stupid and incomprehensible transphobia being pushed by Trump and his minions here in Virginia. Who gets hurt? Kids!”

What a ridiculous position. First off, transphobia doesn’t exist because transgender doesn’t exist, so her accusation is silly. “Stupid” is just childish name calling. And to the “common sense” used by both Locke and Youngkin here, national polls show an overwhelming majority of Americans believe boys should play sports against boys and girls should play sports against girls. That kind of common sense is not “stupid,” Senator.

Sen. Locke should be thankful for who doesn’t get hurt by this, and that’s every High School girl playing sports in Virginia. Trump’s Executive Order led the way for this and Virginia Democrats call it “stupid and incomprehensible transphobia.” Bigly difference. Vote accordingly.
