Virginia’s congressional delegation split along on party lines on their vote for the poorly named Inflation Reduction Act. The legislation doesn’t tackle inflation and it raises taxes on American families.
Even ABC News Jon Karl asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, “Isn’t it almost Orwellian? How can you call it the Inflation Reduction Act when the nonpartisan experts say it’s not gonna bring inflation down?”
Yes, Orwellian fits.
But that didn’t stop Virginia’s Democrats from supporting the massive spending bill and then spreading disinformation about it. The three Democrats in trouble of holding on to their seats this November, Representatives Elaine Luria, Abigail Spanberger, and Jennifer Wexton, running respectively in the 2nd, 7th and 10th congressional districts, all support this reckless spending.
Disappointing to see repetition of tired talking points. This new legislation will raise taxes on American families. It hardly pretends to address inflation. The real crux of the legislation is the climate change nonsense.
We’ve already spent too much. We can’t afford more spending. Reckless spending like this while inflation is so high may offer a short-term victory for radical leftist politicians, but it will ultimately render everyone’s dollars worthless and leave us all bankrupt.
We need new Reps. in #VA02, #VA07, and #VA10.
